Alan David Gold, (born 1945) is an Australian novelist, literary critic and human rights activist.

Gold was born in Leicester, UK and began his working life on British provincial newspapers such as the Leicester Mercury before becoming a freelance correspondent in the United Kingdom and Europe.

He has written seventeen books which have been published and translated internationally. His novels deal with a wide range of subjects, most often history and Judaism. His most recent publications are Pirate Queen, about Grace O'Malley and Warrior Queen about the adventures of the British Queen Boudica, both published by Penguin Putnam/NAL in the United States.
