Colorado girl scouts not allowed to sell cookies outside pot shops

Girl Scouts selling cookies in front of pot shops are future American entrepreneurs.

DENVER, Feb. 24 (UPI) -- Colorado Girl Scout leadership has prohibited members from selling cookies in front of pot shops, despite recreational marijuana being legal in the state.

Danielle Lei sold more than 100 boxes of cookies in just 2 hours outside of a medical marijuana dispensary in San Francisco, Calif., but despite this model of capitalist brilliance, Colorado Girl Scouts are not having it. They have prohibited the girls from selling outside marijuana dispensaries in the state.

"Our position is really pretty simple," said Rachelle Trujillo, chief marketing officer for the Girl Scouts of Colorado. "There's a place for everything. And just like a liquor store or a gun show, a marijuana dispensary is not a place for young girls to be selling cookies."
