LOS ANGELES, Feb. 19 (UPI) -- There's a new villain in Gotham.
Jada Pinkett Smith has joined Fox's new Batman prequel, Gotham, and she's going to play a brand new character, Fish Mooney.
Mooney is a "sadistic gangster boss" and nightclub owner, with "almost extra-sensory abilities to read people like an open book."
Gotham rewinds the clock on the familiar characters in Batman's rogues gallery and introduces future Gotham City Police Commissioner and Batman ally James Gordon (Ben McKenzie). Donal Logue will step in as Detective Harvey Bullock, Gordon's partner.
Robin Lord Taylor will play Oswald Cobblepot, the man who will eventually become the Penguin, and Sean Pertwee has signed on as 12-year-old Bruce Wayne's beloved butler Alfred Pennyworth. Zabryna Guevara joins the cast as Captain Essen, Gordon and Bullock's boss, and Erin Richards will play Barbara Kean, Gordon's fiancée.
Although Fox has already ordered up a full season of Gotham, no premiere date has been set.
