Stevie Nicks would like to write music for 'Game of Thrones'

LONDON, Feb. 18 (UPI) -- Stevie Nicks credits HBO's hit show Game of Thrones with helping her deal with her mother's death two year ago.

The 65-year-old Fleetwood Mac singer-songwriter told Radio Times magazine in the U.K. that she "didn't leave the house for almost five months" after her mother Barbara Nicks died on December 28, 2011.

"And then I got pneumonia. With my pneumonia and my mother’s death, I watched the entire first season of Game of Thrones. That certainly took my mind off everything," she said.

Asked if she would be willing to guest star in the series, Nicks said "she would love to write music for the show."

"I’ve written a bunch of poetry about it -- one for each of the characters," she explained. "I’m always looking for that kind of inspiration, and I’m very inspired by the show -- as I was very inspired by Twilight."

The "Rhiannon" singer went on to disclose that her favorite character from the show was Emilia Clarke's Daenerys Targaryen.

"Khaleesi (Clarke) is my new favorite heroine. And Cersei (Lena Headey) is fantastic," she said.

Nicks has previously guest starred in FOX's Glee and FX's American Horror Story.
