LOS ANGELES, Feb. 18 (UPI) -- After a very public split from Khloe Kardashian, DUI arrest and constant scrutiny about his alleged drug use, Lamar Odom is finally getting out of dodge -- way out of dodge.

The former NBA player has signed a two-month contract with Spanish club Laboral Kutxa.

The 6-foot, 10-inch forward was first drafted by the Los Angeles Clippers in 1999. He spent seven seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers until he was traded to the Dallas Mavericks in 2011.

He played poorly after returning to the Clippers in 2012, averaging just 4.0 points and 1.7 assists per game.

He became a free agent last July, shortly before police arrested him for driving under the influence. He checked himself into rehab in September, but left after one day.

The Basque team has already revealed Odom's No. 7 jersey on Twitter:

Sources told Us Weekly that, before he makes his playing debut, Odom could attend a game as a spectator as soon as Thursday.
