SOCHI , Russia, Feb. 16 (UPI) -- U.S. skier Bode Miller, 36, became the oldest-ever racer to win an Olympic Alpine medal at the men's Super-G on Sunday, when he tied for a bronze medal with Canadian Jan Hudec. That bring's Miller's total medal tally to six, the second-most medals for a Winter Olympian tied with speedskater Bonnie Blair.

But Miller, who is unlikely to compete in another Olympics, embraced his wife, Morgan Beck, with tears in his eyes after his race.

"To be on the podium, this is a really big day for me," he told reporters at the finish line. "Emotionally, I had a lot riding on it. Even though I didn't ski my best -- a lot of mistakes -- I'm just super, super happy."

Miller lost his brother, 29-year-old snowboarder Chelone Miller, last April.

"Thanks for all the support, today was one of the most emotional days of my life. I miss my brother," Miller tweeted after the medal ceremony.
