SOCHI, Russia, Feb. 16 (UPI) -- NBC announce on Twitter that Bob Costas is returning to Olympics anchor desk duties Monday night after having to sit out several days with an eye infection.

Costas began his coverage of the Olympic Games in Sochi on Feb. 6 by alerting viewers to the fact that his left eye was red and swollen, and he was wearing glasses because he had pink eye.

It didn't take long before Costas was completely sidelined by the infection, which eventually spread to both eyes.

"Today" show host Matt Lauer and Meredith Vieria have been filling in for Costas, but now it looks like he's ready to return.
