WASHINGTON, Feb. 12 (UPI) -- Vice President Joe Biden sat next to Julia Louis-Dreyfus at the White House state dinner for French President Francois Hollande Tuesday night, a joke that was not lost on the multitude of journalists who gleefully documented the "Veep meets veep" seating arrangements.
Louis-Dreyfus, of course, plays Vice President Selina Meyer on HBO's cutting spoof of the vice president's office, popularly seen as a lonely and boring place for power-hungry politicians. She's met Biden before, and was happy to sit next to the avuncular VP on Tuesday.
"That was an unforgettable evening," she captioned a Twitter photo of them together.

"Look who I'm sitting next to!" she told one reporter.
"Hey stop screwing around, she's my date!" Biden jokingly interrupted.
