Moscow bomb threat prompts evacuation of 7,000 students

A phoned-in bomb threat prompted the evacuation of 7,000 students at the Moscow Aviation Institute on Tuesday. Bomb-sniffing dogs are being used to investigate all 12 buildings.

MOSCOW, Feb. 11 (UPI) -- A bomb threat prompted the evacuation of 7,000 students at the Moscow Aviation Institute on Tuesday.

Moscow police reported that the phoned-in threat was specific to one of the Institute's buildings. Out of an abundance of caution, authorities evacuated all 12 of the Institute's buildings. Bomb-sniffing dogs are being used in the investigation.

Moscow is approximately 1,000 miles north of the Sochi Winter Olympics venue.
