LOS ANGELES, Feb. 9 (UPI) -- It's that time of year again, when entrepreneurial high school students post YouTube videos asking various celebrities to prom.
This year, Arizona high school student Matt Peterson asked Miley Cyrus to be his date, telling the 21-year-old pop star that he's been a fan "from the beginning."
"You've changed my life, and I want to repay you by giving you the best night of your life," Peterson captioned his now-viral video, in which he poses naked with a dozen roses and a giant foam finger. "In order to do that, allow me to take you to my Prom on May 3, 2014. I promise you, we will have a great time.. and after our first encounter, I won't cry on your dress. I hope you will tell me yes when I'm sitting with roses in the 6th row at your BANGERZ tour in Phoenix on Febuary 27th!"

Peterson does have a history with Cyrus. His video includes footage of his 2009 meeting with the singer during a KISS FM radio interview. She mentioned his name several months later during a concert he attended.
Cyrus reconnected with Peterson on Saturday, when she tweeted, "Dear Matt Peterson, I don't think I'll be able to make it to prom BUT why don't you come to my AZ show & hang w me?"
"Don't forget a corsage," she added.
"I need a tongue tuxedo," he wrote back.
