PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 7 (UPI) -- In a speech about the need to improve infrastructure, Vice President Joe Biden compared New York's LaGuardia airport to a "Third World country."
Speaking in Philadelphia, Biden said, "If I blindfolded someone and took them at 2 o’clock in the morning into the airport in Hong Kong and said, ‘Where do you think you are?’ They’d say, ‘This must be America. It’s a modern airport.’ If I took him blindfolded and took him into LaGuardia Airport in New York, you must think 'I must be in some Third World country.'"
LaGuardia airport saw over 25 million fliers in 2012. One passenger said, "I literally travel through here every single week and I do look around and go 'really?' I mean coming from, I live in Dallas-Fort Worth, and coming from an airport that size and city, it doesn't match up."
