Blast at Benghazi school injures 12 children

An unidentified man launched a grenade over the wall of a private school in Benghazi on Wednesday as students were playing outside. The blast injured at least 12 children.

BENGHAZI, Libya, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- A grenade detonated at a private school in Benghazi, injuring at least 12 children, two seriously.

According to witnesses, an unidentified man launched a grenade over the school's wall around 11:00 a.m. local time while students were playing at recess. He then fled in a low black car with tinted windows.

Deputy Interior Minister Bahlul Al-Said remarked that insecurity in Benghazi "is now happening to kids." An investigative team was ordered to depart immediately from Tripoli to Benghazi.
