LOS ANGELES, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Kevin Jonas and his wife Danielle Jonas welcomed their first child on Sunday -- a girl named Alena Rose Jonas. The 26-year-old former singer shared the news, and several updates about Danielle's labor on Twitter.

He carried on Sunday sharing a picture from the hospital, noting how excited he was, and later re-tweeting an image of his wife and their child.

His brothers Joe and Nick Jonas also shared their excitement on the social media site, even though their niece's birth came on the heels of their grandfather's death.
"My grandfather's memorial was yesterday," Nick Jonas, 21, wrote Sunday. "Today we welcome a new addition to the jonas family. God is great. Can't wait to meet my new niece."
"As one life ends, another begins," Joe Jonas, 24, tweeted. "Incredibly happy to be an uncle for the first time. Welcome to this world my beautiful niece."
