Governor Nathan Deal of Georgia admits fault in poor emergency response

Atlanta's greater metro region has been paralyzed due to severe winter weather that shut down roads, schools and businesses on Tuesday.

ATLANTA, Jan. 30 (UPI) -- Governor Nathan Deal said in a press conference Thursday that the state did not respond adequately to Atlanta's state of emergency.

In his latest press conference on the status of the response to the winter storm, he said he was not satisfied and, "I'm not going to look for a scapegoat. I'm the governor. The buck stops with me, I accept the responsibility for it."

Deal went onto say that his office will be working on improving their response and correcting the errors made. He also thanked all the school officials and people working on the roadways for their assistance during the disaster.
