'Girl Meets World' gets early approval, Disney orders more episodes

The upcoming sitcom was picked up for a total of 21 episodes.

The anticipated Boy Meets World spinoff, Girl Meets World was picked up by ABC channel for a full season months ahead of the show's pilot debut.

Series star Danielle Fishel broke the news via Twitter on Thursday.

"Got the great news tonight that #GirlMeetsWorld was picked up for 8 more episodes—a total of 21! Can't wait for everyone to see them all," Fishel wrote.

The show will find Ben Savage and Fishel reprising their roles as Cory and Topanga, now raising their family in New York City. Grown up Cory is a teacher at his daughter Riley's school and Topanga owns a cool after-school hangout spot.

Starring Rowan Blanchard, Ben Savage and Fishel, Girl Meets World will premiere some time in 2014.
