Aaron Paul could star in screen adaptation of 'The Dark Tower'

Aaron Paul has confirmed he is in talks to participate in the screen adaptation of Stephen King's The Dark Tower.

The 34-year-old Breaking bad star would play Eddie Dean, the lead character in the book series.

''I've had a ton of meetings on that. I just had a general sit down with Ron Howard, who is a huge fan of the show [Breaking Bad], which is such a crazy thing to even think that Ron Howard even knows who I am," Paul is quoted as saying.

''They're definitely planning on making it. I'm excited. Their goal is to do three films, but also have a television element to it, which will be very interesting. From what I hear, Eddie Dean is a pretty epic, iconic character.''

The Dark Tower, a story told in a series of books that incorporates fantasy, science fantasy and horror, was stalled in pre-production when Universal Studios dropped the project. The film was later picked up by Warner Bros. in August 2012, but dropped again a few weeks later.

Howard has confirmed that the film is a work in progress and that they're still looking into making it.
