Soulja Boy arrested in LA for carrying a gun

Rapper Soulja Boy was arrested in Los Angeles Wednesday after cops realized he was carrying a loaded gun in his pocket.

According to TMZ, the 23-year-old rapper -- whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way -- was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over by authorities in the San Fernando Valley for running a stop sign. Once police realized Soulja Boy was carrying a loaded gun, they decided to take him into custody.

He was taken to a nearby jail and was being booked as TMZ published the story.

Soulja's latest encounter with the law took place back 2011 when he was busted for possession of marihuana.
