Sean Penn calls Charlize Theron 'a keeper,' according to Piers Morgan

Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Sean Penn might think twice before opening up to Piers Morgan again.

The CNN host attended Penn's Help Haiti Home gala earlier this month, where he got the inside scoop for a Daily Mail column on the 53-year-old actor's secretive relationship with Charlize Theron.

'I'm so glad you two have got together,' I said, 'Sean's a great guy.'

'I know, [Theron] smiled, putting her hand round his shoulder.

Morgan said that he got "bear-hugged" by Penn later that night.

When Morgan congratulated him on his new lady love, Penn reportedly said, "She’s a keeper, that’s for sure… well, I’ll do my best to keep her anyway!"

Penn had thanked Theron onstage for changing his mind about guns.

"I'm a self-proclaimed Alpha male who owns 67 firearms,’ he said. "But I’ve had my mind changed about guns by a strong woman, a beautiful South African woman."

The happy couple have kept their relationship relatively quiet, but they did spend the holidays together in Hawaii.
