In the conflict-ridden Dagestan region, three militants were killed in a shootout on Monday and five militants were wounded in a bomb and grenade attack against a restaurant on Friday.

State media reported security forces killed seven militants in an anti-terror operation on Saturday.

Russian security services are aggressively pursuing terror threats in the lead-up to the February Winter Olympics in Sochi. At least two videos, one video posted as recently as Sunday, have threatened attacks against the Olympic Games.

Russian authorities are also urgently searching for four "Black Widows" who are suspected of planning to attack the Olympics.
