Kate Gosselin's twins give uncomfortable interview on 'Today' show

Kate Gosselin took her 13-year-old twin daughters to the Today show Thursday in an attempt to have them convince the public that their family was completely normal.

However, Mady and Cara pretty much sat quiet during the entire interview looking up at their mother every time host Savannah Guthrie asked them a question.

The girls' silence pushed Gosselin to the edge several times and prompted her to tell one of her daughters to "use her words" and just repeat what they said in the People magazine article where they defended their lifestyle.

The twins didn't speak until asked if they thought people had the wrong impression of their life.

"I wouldn't say wrong," Mady finally responded. "I would just say not like the full like story, like a lot of people think that filming our show had damaged us, but its only really helped."

The girls' mother took over at this point to say that she often talks to her eight children to explain the inaccuracies that the media reports about their life.

"The most upset they are is because the get really frustrated that people assume certain things in out house and they always say, 'But that not how it is mommy. Why are they saying that about us?'" Gosselin said.

Asked if they'd like to star in another television show both girls smiled and said "yes."

"It's a lot of fun opportunities. And if it happens, it does and if it doesn't, it doesn't," Gosselin added. "It's a family made decision, and they're just really regular everyday awesome teenagers."

Gosselin and her family became famous for the reality TV show Jon & Kate Plus 8 which profiled their life as a couple raising sextuplets and twins. The show aired from 1999 to 2009.
