Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr to reunite for Grammys performance

The two surviving members of the Beatles will join Taylor Swift, John Legend, Kacey Musgraves and Keith Urban at the Grammys this year.

Jan. 15 (UPI) -- Among the slew of artists lined up for the 56th annual Grammy Awards are Paul McCartney and Ringo Star, who will perform together for the first time in four years.

They last played publicly together at Starr's 70th birthday celebration in 2010, when McCartney serenaded him with the Beatles 1968 hit "Birthday."


The pair will also accept the 2014 Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of the Beatles, who have won nine total Grammy Awards.

McCartney, 71, is nominated for Best Rock Song for is work on "Cut Me Some Slack" with Nirvana's Dave Grohl and Krist Noveselic.

Other performers include Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Taylor Swift, Kacey Musgraves, Keith Urban, John Legend, Sara Bareilles and Carole King.
