At least nineteen students, three teachers, and a van driver died when a school bus crashed into a dump truck Wednesday in Nawabshah, north of Karachi.

The students, between the ages of six and sixteen, were from the Bright Future School in nearby Daulatpur. They were returning home from a quiz competition when their school bus collided head-on into the truck.

Chief of the Civil Hospital in Nawabshah, Doctor Hashim Langa, said that fifteen to twenty people were injured in the crash, some admitted to intensive care and neurological units.

Police are searching for the truck driver, who fled the scene.
