"I started writing this album three years ago," she said. "I put no conscious guides or governors on the creation of this album other than to write songs that I want to sing. ... The result is an album that plays to my roots -- country, '70s radio, gospel and singer-songwriter."

The record was produced by Rick Rubin (of Johnny Cash and the Dixie Chicks fame) and included Nettles's current single, "That Girl."

The singer will be promoting her album in several television shows throughout the week. She appeared on NBC’s Today Show and CBS’s Late Show With David Letterman on Tuesday and is scheduled to guest star on The View, Yahoo Ram Country and The Chew over the course of the week.
