Jan. 15 (UPI) -- Veronica Mars fans who contributed to the enormously successful Kickstarter campaign are getting even more return on their investment.
Inspired by interest in the upcoming film, CW has announced the development of a digital spinoff, which will air as an accompaniment to the movie after it premieres at the South by Southwest festival in March.
Though CW bosses were coy about details, the series will probably come in six to eight installments of a few minutes each. Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas is reportedly attached.
βHe is very excited about it,β CW president Mark Pedowitz told reporters at its Television Critics Association presentation on Wednesday.
The series will air on the CW's online platform, CW Seed, though Deadline notes that the network's web series have the potential to transition to TV.
