Acclaimed director and screenwriter David O. Russell is sure to get in a lot of trouble for the remarks he made regarding Jennifer Lawrence.

The 55-year-old director has worked with the 23-year-old actress in his past two movies Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle and according to him, the franchises she stars in -- Lawrence plays Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games and a young Mystique in X-Men -- pretty much treat her like a slave.

“I personally think they should give her a bit of breathing room over there because they’re printing money. But she’s a very alive person," Russell told New York Daily News's Confidenti@l on Friday.

"I'll tell you what it is about that girl, talk about 12 years of slavery, that's what the franchise is," the screenwriter continued. "And I'm going to get in so much trouble for saying that."

Russell went on to compare Lawrence's life to a "hamster wheel" and added that she takes her more artistic roles as a "vacation of sorts" form her blockbuster films.

The director's comments came in regards to his fear that the young starlet will push herself over the edge, yet again, as her busy schedule was one of the reasons cited behind a pneumonia she suffered from last year.

Lawrence has starred in two Hunger Games movies over the past two years and acted in 16 films in the past 5 years.
