Ashlee Simpson engaged to Evan Ross

The happy couple announced their engagement on Twitter Monday.

Jan. 13 (UPI) -- Evan Ross has already described Ashlee Simpson as "the one," so news of their engagement comes as no surprise.

The 25-year-old son of Diana Ross tweeted a photo of himself and Simpson wearing her ring on Monday afternoon, writing, "The love of my life said YES!!!!!!"

Simpson, 29, tweeted the same photo.

Simpson has a 5-year-old son, Bronx Mowgli, from her previous marriage to Fall Out Boy rocker Pete Wentz. They divorced in 2011.

Ross and Simpson went public with their relationship last July. Ross has a part in the next Hunger Games films, Mockingjay Part 1 and Mockingjay Part 2.
