Jan. 13 (UPI) -- Amy Adams took home the Golden Globe Award for her role in David O. Russell's American Hustle, which showed her character wearing string of deep-V necklines that would make Jennifer Lopez blush.

Taking a page from her character's trademark look, the 39-year-old actress wore a plunging two-tone gown by Valentino to Sunday night's ceremony. She paired the halter dress with a braided updo and minimal accessories.

“I always cry when I’m not supposed to,” Adams said when she picked up her award, thanking Russell for "letting the world know a princess can punch and wear a low-cut gown."
