Emily Osment to star in new ABC comedy 'Young and Hungry'

The new series will be produced by Disney alum Ashley Tisdale.

Former Hanna Montana actress Emily Osment is returning to television.

The 21-year-old actress is set to star in Young and Hungry, a new ABC series executive-produced by fellow Disney Channel alum Ashley Tisdale.

In the show, Osment will play Gabi, a young food blogger who's desperate for a job and ends up working as a personal chef for wealthy young tech entrepreneur Josh, played by Jonathan Sadowski.

The show will premiere later in 2014.

“It’s great to start the new year and my tenure at ABC Family with the pickup of these two funny original series,” ABC Family president Tom Ascheim said of Osment's show and another new comedy, Mystery Girls, starring and executive-produced by Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth.
