Anna Paquin stars as a 1970s drug-smuggling mother in Free Ride, a movie she produced along with True Blood co-star a real-life husband, Stephen Moyer.

The story for the film comes from screenwriter/director Shana Betz's real-life experiences with her own mother, and according to Paquin, viewers shouldn't jump to conclusions and judge her character's parenting skills.

"Christina is unconventionally just trying to be a good mother," Paquin told CBS News. "It might not look the same as everybody else's childhood, but she's this incredible survivor."

The film marks the first time the couple has worked together on a feature film, and it's the first project released through their joint production company, Casm Films.
