The family starring in the reality series Here Comes Honey Boo Boo say they are hurting but otherwise alright after they were involved in a car crash Monday night.

"It was really scary for us, since it was the first time any of us had ever been in a wreck," said June "Mama June" Shannon, in a statement via TLC.

Paramedics took a look at the family at the scene, but no one was taken to the hospital, said Milledgeville, Ga., Police Major John Davis. Alana's father, Mike "Sugar Bear" Thompson, was driving the car and suffered some bruising on his back. Her sister, Lauryn "Pumpkin" Shannon had bruising on her chest, and Alana hit her head on the passenger window.

"We are definitely really sore today, but our top priority is to celebrate Pumpkin's birthday," Mama June said. "She turned 14 today, and no matter how sore we feel, we are going to go out and celebrate. As always, we want to thank everyone for their support and well wishes."
