Eurythmics to reunite for Beatles tribute

Annie Lennox and David Stewart are set to reunite as the Eurythmics for the first time in nearly a decade.

The British duo will perform at a tribute to the Beatles to air February 9, 50 years to the day since the fab four made their U.S. debut on The Ed Sullivan Show.

"When it came around to booking this show, what I felt was important was to try and find those artists who not only would be able to interpret Beatles songs, but would also have an... understanding of what they meant," said Grammys producer Ken Ehrlich, who is producing the tribute.

Ehrlich didn't say which Beatles tune the Eurythmics would perform at The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute to the Beatles, which will be taped on January 27. But we already know John Mayer and Keith Urban have agreed to duet on "Don't Let Me Down" and Alicia Keys and John Legend are set to perform "Let It Be."

Maroon 5 has also been announced, and the rest of the expected 12 performances will be revealed in the coming days.

Ehrlich also wouldn't say if the two living Beatles, Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney, would be in attendance.

"They really did change people's lives," Ehrlich said, "so what I'm hoping this show... gets across is the message that occasionally in history we are touched by certain artists who have a profound effect on us beyond just the music that they make."
