Former first lady Barbara Bush remains hospitalized in Houston after checking in for treatment Monday.
Bush, 88, was admitted for a "respiratory-related issue" at Houston Methodist Hospital, a statement from her husband's office said Tuesday.
She "is in great spirits, has already received visits from her husband and family, and is receiving fantastic care," the statement said.
On Thursday, President George H.W. Bush shared an update on Twitter, thanking two of his fellow POTUSes for their words of support.
"Barbara thanks @BarackObama and @BillClinton for their get-well wishes and is heeding their advice," he tweeted. "Doesnt happen w every President she knows!"

I'll be rooting for Barbara Bush's full recovery while she's rooting for Baylor today. All my best to her and @GeorgeHWBush.— Bill Clinton (@billclinton) January 1, 2014
