Jan. 1 (UPI) -- Robin Thicke, Miley Cyrus, Blondie, Ariana Grande, Fall Out Boy, Icona Pop, Jenny McCarthy, Chris Daughtry, Fergie, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Melissa Etheridge, Pharrell and more helped Ryan Seacrest ring in the New Year on Tuesday night's Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve show, a tradition that dates back to 1972.

“Our show celebrates the year in music with the top songs and the top acts," producer Larry Klein told The New York Post. "People tune us in whether they are at a party, a restaurant or a bar. We’ve become the country’s habit on New Year’s Eve.”

Thicke, one half of 2013's most sensational on-stage pairing, joined the festivities from Miami, where he performed last year's song of the summer, "Blurred Lines."

Wearing a gold crop top and weather-appropriate white fur coat, Cyrus capped off an unforgettable year with renditions of "Get It Right" and "Wrecking Ball."

Cyrus might have also kissed Seacrest when the ball dropped, if she's not lying on Twitter.
