Jan. 1 (UPI) -- Jay Z and Beyonce technically ended their 22-day vegan diet challenge on Christmas, but gossipmongers first the spotted the power couple eating animal flesh at Miami restaurant Seasalt and Pepper on Sunday.

Sources told The New York Post that Hova and Queen Bey dined on pappardelle, lobster risotto and seafood casserole, before snapping a photo with Gloria Estefan.

Jay Z and his wife began their vegan challenge the day before his birthday earlier this month.

"This all began a few months back when a good friend and vegan challenged me to embrace a “plant-based breakfast” every day. It was surprisingly easier on me than I thought…" the 44-year-old wrote on his website. "Why now? There’s something spiritual to me about it being my 44th birthday and the serendipity behind the number of days in this challenge; 22 (2+2=4) coupled with the fact that the challenge ends on Christmas day…It just feels right!"

Though there's no word on whether the couple plan to stick to a plant-based diet, Beyonce posted several photos of healthy meals along the way.
