Khloe Kardashian opened up about the insecurities she's had with her body during an interview for the February issue of Cosmopolitan UK.
After explaining that she's lost 30 pounds in 2013 and that her mission for 2014 is to wear a crop top with jeans, the Keeping Up with The Kardashians star confessed she hasn't always been so confortable in her own skin.
“Words are the most powerful weapon; they can leave scars forever," she began a story on how she's refused to get any surgical procedures. "She didn’t mean harm, but when I was around nine I overheard my mom telling her friend I needed a nose job. I was shocked; I hadn’t even thought about it. I’ve grown into my face but I’ve had makeup artists tell me, ‘You should get a nose job.’ I’m so happy that I never have."
"I’m proud for losing weight when I wanted to and I’ve never resorted to surgery," she continued. "I’m not against it -- one day I probably will but it would be on my terms. I won’t be bullied into it by social media or anyone else. I love my body and always have done.”
On the subject of body image and criticism, the 29-year-old reality star added that instead of attacking each other, women "should be building each other up."
"There are enough people out there who’ll put you down. We should be each other’s biggest cheerleaders. I’m not happy with my arms, so if I see a girl with great arms I compliment her. It doesn’t make me hate her; it motivates me to lift more weights.”
In the end, Kardashian said she is excited for the year to be over, and ready for a new beginning.
"I need a good fresh start," she explained. "I’m excited for this year to be over with. You only live once so let’s make that one time perfect. We can’t fix our mistakes and imperfections, so let’s have fun. You get what you give out in life."
