Zayn Malik to wed Perrie Edwards in 2014

Zayn Malik's mother Trisha broke millions of young girls' hearts Sunday by revealing that her son is engaged to his girlfriend Perrie Edwards.

During an interview with the BBC, Trisha dished on the One Direction singer's forthcoming nuptials, their Christmas plans and her future grandchildren.

"Perrie is a lovely girl and I get on really well with her," Trisha said. "They're thinking of the end of next year, although no date has yet been set yet."

And while the wedding date has not been set, Trisha is already thinking about her grandchildren. She hopes Malik will get a house close to hers after he ties knot.

"If they have children I wouldn't like to be so far away from them. I would really like to still be part of their lives," she said.

Trisha added that the Maliks would be speeding Christmas with the Edwards family in London.

"I will cook the dinner," she gushed. "Perrie and her mother will be there and we'll open presents, play games and stuff our faces," she laughs.
