Described by Z100 host Elvis Duran as the "Super Bowl of holiday concerts," the annual Jingle Ball at Madison Square Garden on Friday night featured performances from some of this year's most notable talents, including Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Selena Gomez, Robin Thicke, Ariana Grande, Austin Mahone, Fall Out Boy, Tegan and Sara and R. Kelly.

But it was obviously Miley Cyrus who gave the most anticipated performance of the night.

"Everything preceding her felt secondary," wrote The New York Times' Ben Ratliff, though she "became distracted after the first few minutes."

Cyrus danced with her usual backup cast of characters, as well as the importance holiday addition of Santa. Notably, however, she was introduced by Lindsay Lohan, a former child star herself.

"This next artist we've watched grow up on screen and on stage," the 27-year-old said. "And in the last year, we've seen a whole new side of her, which I can relate to."

"This is a girl who's not afraid to be herself," Lohan said.

"@mileycyrus can't wait to announce a talented beauty," Lohan tweeted before her appearance.

You can watch Lohan's introduction and Cyrus' subsequent performance -- in which he sang “Party in the U.S.A.,” a cover of Lana Del Ray's "Summertime Sadness," “Bangerz,” “Adore You” and “Wrecking Ball” -- in the video below:
