HGTV host Bill Beckwith dies

The host of "Curb Appeal" was killed Monday night when the motorcycle he was riding collided with another vehicle.

Nov. 5 (UPI) -- HGTV host Bill Beckwith was killed Monday in a motorcycle crash in San Francisco at the age of 38.

The popular Curb Appeal host was on his motorcycle when he collided with a car in the Lower Haight neighborhood around 8:30 p.m., the police and medical examiner said. He was transported to San Fransisco General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

"We are heartbroken," the producers said on the show's official Facebook page. "Bill was truly a beloved and respected member of our Curb Appeal family and this loss is devastating to us. We send our deepest and most sincere condolences to Bill's family."

HGTV debuted Curb Appeal in 2002, when Beckwith, along with co-host John Gidding, Chip Wade and Kimberly Lacy would make over the outside of a house.
