This year's mashup of the top 25 songs is a little darker-themed and less dance-oriented, says DJ Earworm, who releases the annual mixes.

Dec. 3 (UPI) -- One of the best annual year-end lists isn't a list at all: It's DJ Earworm's "United State of Pop," the mashup of the 25 biggest songs of each year.

The mix master, whose real name is Jordan Roseman, released the 2013 list "Living the Fantasy" on Tuesday.

The track includes hits from Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Lorde, Miley Cyrus, Macklemore and Avicci.

"It's a little darker-themed, I think," Roseman said.. "The ballads seem to be a lot more present than they have been in many years and the dance music is having less strong of a pull. And even the dance music that is there is more gentle, like [Robin Thicke's] 'Blurred Lines' and [Daft Punk's] 'Get Lucky,' and not EDM bangers."
