Devon Sawa, wife expecting first child

Dec. 2 (UPI) -- You might recognize Devon Sawa as the blonde heartthrob whose cherubic face was taped to the walls of every tween girl in 1990s America. He kissed Christina Ricci in both Casper and Now and Then, and a peewee football player in Little Giants.

These days, however, the 35-year-old Canadian actor is starring on The CW's Nikita -- and he's about to be a dad.

Sawa broke the news on Sunday, tweeting a photo of his nursery.

Sawa's rep confirmed the tweet on Monday, noting that the actor and his wife, Dawni, were expecting a boy.

"The baby is due the first week of January," the rep said.

"Thanks for all the well wishes. We are very excited," Sawa said in a later tweet.
