Ron Burgundy anchors real-life North Dakota newscast [VIDEO]

Local news legend Ron Burgundy brings his classy delivery to North Dakota's KX News.

Dec. 1 (UPI) -- Will Ferrell's not above performing for tiny markets. He famously starred (for free) in ads for Old Milwaukee beer that only played in rural communities like Glendive, Mont., and Ardmore, Okla.

Opting for a similar approach on his promotion tour for Anchorman 2, Ferrell showed up to co-anchor Bismark, N.D.'s KX News Saturday night in character as the clueless but narcissistic San Diego newsman Ron Burgundy.

Burgundy spent 30 minutes at the newsdesk, in which he read stories from Slope County traffic cop, a local hockey rivalry and facial hair.

"I've never seen fighting in a hockey match before," Burgundy said. "That was fascinating."
