Nov. 23 (UPI)-- European Union spokesman Michael Mann posted on Twitter in the early hours of Sunday morning that an "agreement" had been reached with Iran regarding its nuclear program.

EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission Catherine Ashton announced via Mann's tweet: "We have reached agreement between E3+3 and Iran." Delegates from Britain, France, Germany, China, Russia, and the United States -- known as the E3+3 or P5+1 -- had been in day four of the latest round of negotiated talks with Iran concerning its nuclear program.

The agreement, according to The Washington Post, was signed at 3 AM and will require Iran to cease or reduce its nuclear infrastructure.

The historic deal comes nearly two days after Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi tweeted that "little progress" had been made in Geneva. The EU High Representative had "intensive discussions" with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Saturday, according to Mann's tweet Saturday evening.
