Nov. 20 (UPI) -- We already know that a Beetlejuice 2 is in the pipeline -- The Wrap reported last month that Tim Burton was in talks to direct the sequel to his 1988 hit, while Michael Keaton confirmed the rumors to TMZ a few weeks ago.

But what about Winona Ryder?

The 42-year-old actress seemed to hint this week that she would return to a sequel set 27 years later, with a script penned by original writer Seth Grahame-Smith.

"I'm kind of sworn to secrecy," Ryder told The Daily Beast on Monday. "But it sounds like it might be happening."

It's a very precious movie to people," Ryder said of potential backlash. "So there are a lot people like, 'DON'T.'"

But Ryder said she's happy with the direction of a sequel, as a posed to a reboot.

"It's not a remake. It's 27 years later," she said. "And I have to say, I love Lydia. She was such a huge part of me. I would be really interested in what she is doing 27 years later."

"I would never go near [a sequel] if it was not Tim and Michael," she added. "Because those guys, I love."

No word on whether Alec Baldwin or Geena Davis have been approached.
