Nov. 20 (UPI) -- Media baron Rupert Murdoch and his third wife, Wendi Deng, parted ways amicably Wednesday, coming to a cordial agreement on their pending divorce.

"We are pleased to announce that we have reached an amicable settlement of all matters relating to our divorce," Murdoch, 82, and Deng, 44, said in a joint statement. "We move forward with mutual respect and a shared interest in the health and happiness of our two daughters. We will not comment on this any further."

The pair were married for 14 years, and filed for divorce in June. They have two daughters, Grace 12, and Chloe, 9.

In court in New York Wednesday, they agreed to a final agreement, avoiding a public trial and all the drama that could have come with it.

The couple had a prenuptial agreement that means the settlement will not have an effect on the management of Murdoch's holdings, including the Wall Street Journal, the New York Post, 20th Century Fox and Fox News, a source said.

Deng will reportedly get to keep the couple's $44 million 5th Avenue apartment, since it is the primary home of Grace and Chloe.

Murdoch has four other children from his previous marriages. All six of his children have equal financial stakes in his estate, but only his four older children have voting stakes in his companies.
