Nov. 17 (UPI) -- Australian model Miranda Kerr took to Instagram Friday saying she had no idea she a photo she posted on the social media website was altered to make her figure look slimmer.

The model came under fire from fashion blogs Fashin.Livejournal.com and The Fashion Spot for posting photographs on her Instagram account that differed from other versions of the same photos or appeared heavily edited.

In some of the photos, background imagery appears distorted, indicating it was altered to make her waist look slimmer.

Kerr posted a photo of herself and some other models from the Victoria's Secret Fashion show last week that she has since removed. She reposted the unedited photo with an apology.

"Hi guys, here is the original VS image! When I re-posted the photo this week to support the girls I screen grabbed it off the internet when I was working in Japan. I had no idea it was photoshopped. All good intentions- sorry for the confusion and congratulations to the girls for such a great show!" she wrote.
