Nov. 13 (UPI) -- A tearful Alec Baldwin took the stand in a New York courtroom Tuesday and denied having a romance with Genevieve Sabourin, a woman he describes as a stalker.

But Sabourin couldn't contain herself during his testimony and shouted, "You're lying!"

The Canadian actress is charged with stalking the 30 Rock star and his wife, Hilaria Thomas. Baldwin testified that Sabourin's unwanted advances and incessant emails were making him anxious. He also said he's concerned for his family's safety.

Many of the emails, obtained by CNN, begged Baldwin for his hand in marriage before finally, apparently, admitting it was a lost cause.

"I need to start my new life with my new name ... in my new country, help my newly husband, you!"

"I am less than 10 minutes away from you tonight. Say 'I do' to me."

"I may have lost all the battles to win your heart over in the past two years, but I've learn so much."

Baldwin said Sabourin arrived at his home unannounced and crashed his engagement to Thomas. Days later, Bladwin says she did the same at a Lincoln Center event he was hosting.

Baldwin, who worked with Sabourin on the 2002 film The Adventures of Pluto Nash, admitted having one dinner with her in 2010, but no more.

Sabourin is set to testify Wednesday. If convicted, she faces up to one year in prison.
