(UPI) -- Now that Elizabeth Olsen's solidified her indie cred with films like Martha Marcy May Marlene and Kill Your Darlings, she's officially moving on to blockbusters.

After months of speculation and Samuel L. Jackson's accidental casting slip, the 24-year-old actress has finally confirmed news that she'll be starring in Joss Whedon's upcoming Avengers sequel, Age of Ultron.

Olsen, Mary-Kate and Ashley's younger sister, told MTV News the news during a press junket for Old Boy on Monday.

"Sam Jackson has released me from that awkwardness," she said of her costar's role in spreading the word.

Olsen, who will play Magneto's daughter the Scarlet Witch, couldn't share any details about her character's storyline or costume, though she did say: "It's so fun."

She also dropped a few compliments about her director.

"He's very smart. He's too smart. He might be too smart," she said of Whedon. "Some people are too smart for their own good, but he's amazing."

Aaron Taylor-Johnson has already been confirmed as Olsen's onscreen twin brother, Quicksilver.
