(UPI) -- Despite some young celebs' reputations for wild partying, Selena Gomez says she's always going to be a good girl.

The 21-year-old "Come & Get It" singer covers Teen Vogue's December issue, in which she opens up about her non-rebellious lifestyle, her friendship with Taylor Swift and the kind of love that "consumes you."

“I’ve tried it, and I’ve never been that girl. I’m always going to be the girl you want to take home to your parents, not for the night," the former Disney Channel star told the mag.

Her attitude is a far cry from ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber's behavior. The 19-year-old Canadian was reportedly caught sneaking out of a Brazilian brothel last Friday.

“You fall in love and it completely consumes you. So a part of you is broken when that’s gone,” Gomez said. The young, musical couple broke up earlier this year.

Gomez's BFF Taylor Swift was never a fan of Bieber, according to various media reports. In the interview, Gomez describes her 23-year-old friend as an old soul.

The difference between Taylor and me is she was sixteen with the confidence of a 25-year-old. Actually, I should say 80-year-old, because she's such an old soul. I was not that way. I was very sheltered until about eighteen or nineteen. I still live at home, and I'm 21! She does inspire me like crazy, but I wouldn't change my path, because it allowed me to figure out all that stuff and do it on my own.
