(UPI) -- San Francisco 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith reportedly left rehab and turned himself in to authorities Tuesday night to face felony weapons charges, and then posted bail almost immediately.

Smith now has separate court dates to face weapon charges and misdemeanor DUI and drug charges. His bail was $75,000 and he is facing up to four years in jail.

The 24-year-old’s surrender was part of the agreement he made with Santa Clara County District Attorney Jeff Rosen when he was initially charged with illegal assault weapon possession. Smith was in rehab after a September arrest for DUI.

Authorities hit Smith with the felony weapons charges after he hosted a 2012 party where he was stabbed and two people were shot. After a search of the premises, law enforcement officials discovered assault rifles, magazines and ammunition.

Smith is on “indefinite leave” from the 49ers but is tentatively expected to return to the team for Week 10.
