(UPI) -- In what's perhaps an effort to compete with Marvel's seemingly endless train of superhero films, 20th Century Fox has stuffed nearly all of its X-Men characters -- past and present -- into one impressively cast film.
In X-Men: Days of Future Past, Professor Charles Xavier (Sir Patrick Stewart) and Magneto (Sir Ian McKellan) recruit Hugh Jackman's Wolverine to travel back in time to warn their younger selves (James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender) about a future threat, a conceit which allows the cast of the X-Men prequel First Class to star in the same film.
Plenty of cast members are back for Wolverine's time-traveling adventures, including Jennifer Lawrence, Anna Paquin, Nicholas Hoult, Evan Peters, Halle Berry. Also on board is Ellen Page's Kitty Pryde.
Days of Future Past debuts May 2014.
